Who We AreWe are the Baltimore Brain Bee chapter. We provide local high school students with a free and fun competition to test one's knowledge of the human brain including such topics as intelligence, emotions, memory, sleep, vision, hearing, depression, addictions, neurological and psychiatric disorders, and brain research. The winner of the Baltimore Brain Bee competition will be invited to participate in the U.S. National Brain Bee.
We work with high school students from Baltimore City. We are unable to accommodate students outside of Baltimore City. Students from Baltimore County and Harford County students are now eligible to compete in the Baltimore County Brain Bee competition to be held at Stevenson University. Please contact Dr. Ingrid Tulloch for information regarding the Baltimore County Brain Bee. |
Brain Bee's HistoryThe Brain Bee, which was founded in 1999, is a neuroscience Q&A competition for secondary school students that aims to motivate them to learn about the brain, capture their imaginations, and inspire them to pursue careers in neuroscience in order to help treat and find cures for neurological and psychological disorders. There are currently about 150 Local Brain Bee coordinators in 30 countries worldwide that conduct competitions annually. The winner of each Local Bee is invited to attend the National Brain Bee competition in his or her own country, and the winner of each National Bee is invited to compete in the International Brain Bee Championship.
